Sabrina Marchetti is Associate Professor in Sociology (SPS/08) at University Ca’ Foscari in Venice.

She is mainly specialised on issues of gender, racism, labour and migration, with a specific focus on the question of migrant domestic work.

She defended her PHD at the Graduate Gender Programme of Utrecht University in 2010. From 2011 till 2016, she has worked at the European University Institute as a Marie Curie Fellow and Jean Monnet Fellow. She has been post-doctoral fellow at the Gender Excellence Programme of Linköping University. She has collaborated with the International Centre for Development and Decent Work of Kassel University in Germany and with the Metropolitan University in London. She has also worked for NGOs and non-academic research institutes. She has won research grants from the European Commission, the European Science Foundation, the University of Utrecht and Sapienza University in Rome. She is the reference person for Europe of the Research Network for Domestic Workers’ Rights.
